[Juniorsurfb] Auckland Champs 23/24th Feb

Hi All
   
  For those of you that have kids in C Group I apologise if I am repeating some of Janet's excellent email.
   
  I have several names for B Group entries but not enough, even if you think you are not talented in the water you maybe on land or vice versa.
   
  THIS IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE.....YOU GET POINTS FOR MAIRANGI BAY for up to 6th place and it does make a difference. We have a close competition with Red Beach and Orewa particularly so please fill in your forms or email me.
   
  All the kids that competed at Waipu seemed to really enjoy themselves over the two days of competition.
   
  New to the Champs this year is TEAM EVENTS.
   
  Combinations are being sorted out but if you would prefer to go with someone please let me know. I will try and accomodate this but we do want to have the strongest possible A ans B Teams in each event.
   
  Some of The Team Events as follows:
   
  BOARD RELAY - you need 3 board paddlers.
   
  BOARD RESCUE - 2 people, one swimmer (patient) and a rescuer on board.
   
  TUBE RESCUE - 2 people one patient ( either swims out or is dropped out in IRB) and one strong swimmer.
   
  Plus other events. If you are a good distance runner let me know.
   
  Personally I think the teams events may be an opportunity to pick up some extra points.
   
  I appreciate some kids are incredibly busy (especially swimmers) at this time of the year but it would be nice to have as strong a team as possible.
