Nippers - 2008/2009 Mairangi Bay Junior Surf Season

Welcome back.  Some of you might have noticed we have a new website
dedicated to the junior surf program of Mairangi Bay Surf Life Saving
Club.  Which means registrations can be done online this year.

If you were a member of the club last season, the details you supplied
on registration last year have now been uploaded to the new website.  In
the next couple of days you will receive an email with a family login
and password.  This login will enable you to access and edit your family
and contact details, and register your family members for the 2008/2009
season.  Once you have paid your subs you will receive full access to
the site (which includes: News, Events, Photo Gallery, Message Board
plus loads more).

It's important to note the following:

*         Families will have one login to cover all family members (one
per Family Name)

*         Each child or parent/caregiver member associated to that
Family Name must be updated, and registered for this season

*         Once you have paid you will be given full access to the
member's sections of the site

*         Age groups are calculated automatically on the child's DOB (as
at midnight 30 Sep)

*         Please ensure you input your child's medical health details as
these have not been carried through from the old system.

Steps to take for this season's registration:

1.       Login using your login name and password (in a separate email)

2.       Check your Family details using the link "Edit Family Details"

3.       To register for the season use the link "Season Registration
2008/2009"

a.       Use the tick boxes next to each name to register that person

b.      Select "Update"

4.       For new children or parents use the "Add Children" or "Add
Parent" link

5.       Attend one of the pre-season registration evenings to pay (and
provide a copy of proof of age if registering a new member) 

6.       You will then be given full access to the members site

It's as easy as that.

When registering parent / caregivers details, you will be given the
option to indicate if you would like to help out (eg Coaching, Beach
Assistance, Sausage Sizzle etc).  Please give this some consideration as
with any voluntary organisation you can never have too many people
involved. Whether it's working on our committee or just standing ankle
deep in the water keeping a watchful eye on the children. The more
helpers we have the smoother the club runs and most importantly, the
more we can offer the children.   No experience necessary.

A number of committee members ended their tenure in Junior Surf last
season.  We have been lucky enough to fill most of their positions,
however, we are always looking for assistance and if you think you can
make a contribution to the committee in any way, please don't hesitate
to speak with one of our committee members.

For those parents willing to be involved with coaching on Club days you
can attend a course on one of the following dates:                -
Junior Surf Coach: Saturday November 1st at Ruakaka

- Junior Surf Coach: Saturday November 22nd at Red Beach

Nominations close 8 days before the course and the cost is covered by
the club.  The more the better and what a great way to be involved with
your children.  See Kevin to register.  

Surf Coach Level 1: This follows on from the Junior Surf coach course
and is available for those that wish to extend their coaching skills.
