All Junior Surf Coaches,

Welcome to our new email listing.  Jim has established this email grouping
so that we can communicate to each other.

Firstly well done to all of our new coaches.  We have a large number of BLUE
Shirts on the beach now and its great to see, we also have a large number of
kids.  Sunday went very smoothly and this was clearly a result of the number
of blue shirts and helpers.

We have an exciting season ahead and as I said to some of you earlier I hope
to have sessions where we can get together learn more about the skills we
want to pass on and have some fun of our own.

To start with we have two opportunities this coming Sunday 20th Nov.

08:45am -09:45 at Mairangi Bay Surf club to View the Surf Coaching CD.  This
is a great Coaching CD , it is hot off the press and of course modern, only
a few have seen it.   It goes through all of the skills including
explanations and underwater views.  Come on down early, Coffee will be
provided free of charge.

Then following the Club Day (9.45 - 12.00)

12:15 - 1pm at Mairangi Bay Surf Club for Peter Ziegler to introduce us all
to the new toys (ladder, hurdles and evasion belts).  Peter has just
completed a course on Speed, Power, and Agility.  Something that we believe
we have neglected the importance of when coaching surf in the past.  We have
invested in the new toys and we now plan to use Peter to teach us all how to
use them.   Even though at this stage we will struggle to use the equipment
with the A Group, the principles are still required to be taught to the
younger kids.   Theres a free steak sandwich in it for all at the end.
